Changes in 2008Changes in firework legislation are set to bite in 2008, many larger fireworks and rockets with more than 20grammes of powder (a packet of crisps weighs more) will now require specialist transportation and storage. Most manufacturers and retailers do not have the required storage or transport and will as a result no longer offer these types of fireworks, this will make these fireworks (which you have safely enjoyed for many years) unobtainable from almost all retailers from this year.
To ensure your fireworks perform at the level you have enjoyed previously you will need to travel to specialist retailers stocking this type of firework. Why search, we are local - open all year round and have exactly what you want. Mike & Phil will be manning the counter as always at Stephen Smith's Garden Centre in Otley from 15 October to 09 November and again in the new year. In season we always have over 150 different fireworks to choose from including quieter ranges selected for families with small children, family selection boxes, cakes, Catherine wheels, Roman candles, mines, rocket packs, rockets, barrages, single ignition displays and more. Visiting us even out of season is always fun, we have a fabulous selection available to collect from the store open all year round.
NewsBroughton Hall Nr Skipton once again held their game show on Sunday 29th June, one of the highlights is the Bird man event, £1000 prize money is available to the first person to fly across the river. David Aynesworth believes that the giant rocket motors supplied by Whoosh Fireworks will succeed in assisting him to win the challenge this year. See below a photograph of this years event, last year 3 rocket motors were not enough for sustained flight, unfortunately David despite having four this year found that even this failed to provide the level of thrust needed! Please note: It is perfectly legal to buy and use fireworks at any time of the year, there is however a curfew preventing the use of fireworks after 11:00PM with the exception of, November 5th, Diwali and Chinese New Year when you can continue until 12:00 Midnight and New Years Eve when you should stop at 1:00AM on New Years Day. 
We have secured a vast supply of these high performance fireworks from two of our premier brands including rockets with 400gramme payloads. To accommodate this we have increased our licensed storage to allow us to continue to sell high quality, high performance fireworks to our discerning customers.
